Primero, una explicacion---

Sometimes the best ideas come to you when you should be doing something else--in my case, I should have been listening to my Lit Criticism professor talk about Gayatri Spivak and her criticism of Jane Eyre, imperialism and many other things that I would now understand better had I been paying better attention.

Irregardless (heh heh), this blog is a product of doodling and half listening to lecture. It's going to be a better, cleaner, less angsty version of my poetry blog (I'm not linking you to it, because you can do the internet yourself and also it's a twelve on the teen-angst scale.) And, if I follow the mental plan I've thought out, many posts will be in Spanish, some in both English and Spanish. (Although I can't guarantee wonderful Spanish grammar, but I'll try my best. But my English grammar will be spotless, so at least there's that?)

Why the Spanish posts? As a Spanish major *pretension* I seriously need writing practice. Translating my own thoughts and ideas seem like a good place to start. Also, I'll be living in Barcelona this summer, and it doesn't seem right to completely chronicle that time in English. Who knows, maybe I'll even pick up enough Catalan to write a few lines in it. (also, I'll figure out accents later)

So there you have it.
